Amaroks are very rare creatures only seen naturally in the bitter cold expanse of the mountains located in the Kingdom of Parime. One of the apex predators that dominate the area, the Amaroks are a race of gigantic wolves that are far larger and more powerful than their normal counterparts. They are solitary creatures, preferring to hunt and live alone rather than travel in packs; this lone rogue nature, paired with the fact that these beasts are very proficient in combat, makes it challenging for any elemental to try and tame them. Despite preferring to keep their solitude, they have been known, at times, to bestow aid and wisdom onto travelers that venture into their territories.
There are different breeds of Amaroks; the size and ability of these breeds differ depending on how far deep in the mountains they make their homes. The smallest of the Amarok breeds will, upon reaching adulthood, stand at an average of six feet tall. The largest of these breeds can reach an average of 20 feet tall, but there have been some spotted that have grown upwards to nearly 40 feet. Everything about their bodies shows that they were built to survive the cold; their paw pads are stone-like, their fur is thick and long with the ability to insulate their body heat, and they often have lighter coats in order to blend in with snowy surroundings. Whenever an Amarok is spotted, it's more often than not that people will report that the giant canines had frost, ice, and powdery snow clinging to their pelts; most Amaroks don't mind this addition to their bodies and will take advantage of the snow and ice that accumulate to blend in even more until it all inevitably melts from it's excessive body heat.
When Amaroks are born, they resemble regular wolf pups in most ways, except for the fact that they are far bigger. The pups of the smallest breed of Amarok will be slightly smaller than a fully grown regular wolf, the pups of the largest being a little bit larger than the average adult wolf. All Amarok pups are born with closed eyes; their blindness lasts around three to four weeks until they are finally able to open their eyes and see the world for themselves. Their short, thin coats are dark when they are first born, but as they get older, their colors brighten to match their often snow-blanketed environment. As they grow, their fur not only lightens in tone but also thickens and lengthens in order for the pups to survive in the harsh temperatures. As months pass, they will begin to simply look like smaller versions of their parents, and by the time they have made their first kill at around the age of 8 months, their mother leaves them to regain her solidarity, the pups sometimes remaining together for a short time before dispersing as well.
How deep in the mountains that an Amarok lives depends entirely on its size. In the deep recesses of the mountains, there isn't exactly a broad expanse of prey for Amaroks to hunt down and devour; as a result, only smaller Amaroks tend to be found here. There simply isn't enough food for a large Amarok to sustain itself properly deep in the mountains, but a smaller breed of Amarok, or a pup, would have an easier time hunting here. Fortunately for them, the mountains themselves give them a certain amount of protection; most elementals don't have a need to go so far deep into their territories, and any creature that could possibly take down an Amarok, even a smaller breed, would have a hard time maneuvering in the often tight or dangerous spaces the Amaroks usually occupy. As for the large Amaroks, they get further out of the mountains the bigger they get. There is a wider selection of potential prey the further one gets from the center of the mountains, and if the Amarok is large and skilled enough, it won't need the protection of the stony cliffs and overhangs.
When it comes to mating, Amaroks differ widely from their normal wolf counterparts, though a few similarities still shine through. It is well-known that most normal wolves will choose a mate to have for life, usually only finding a different companion if their partner is killed or otherwise separated from the pack. Most of the time, only the alphas of normal wolf packs will breed, unless they are closely related, in which case the female will sometimes take on a different wolf as her mate. Amaroks do not engage in the pack life, and their lonely natures mean that they do not travel with mates or family members for very long. Instead, during mating season, Amaroks will gather deeper in the mountains and find a temporary partner, the father usually only staying long enough to ensure the mother will deliver safely and has a suitable food source to keep herself and their pups alive until she can properly hunt again. That being said, Amaroks have been known to take the same mate as they have in previous years time and time again, the creatures mating based on the temporary compatibility they share with one another rather than other factors. These creatures are even intelligent enough to communicate to make sure whether or not they are related to one another before any courting begins.

Alphyns are considered by some to be one of the most majestic predatory monsters in all the kingdoms. Alphyns share many of their traits with wolves, lions, and dragons, and use these traits in order to ensure their survival. Supposedly being directly descended from some of the older species of dragons, alphyns have inherited most of their intelligence, and are able to understand small things like patterns in behavior, all the way up to understanding elementals when they speak. For these reasons, as well as their great physical capabilities, they have been well sought-out by elementals to either tame and use, or defeat and slaughter to prove one's own capabilities. This is an extremely difficult task for even the most prepared elemental, as alphyns are aware of the elemental's intentions and will avoid any confrontations. Their wish to avoid conflict, paired with the fact that they don't care for humans as other loner monsters might, makes sightings of the alphyn rather rare, and almost always at a distance.
Alphyns have two different breeds that can be found throughout the world; one which seems more draconic, the other being more lion-like. The more lion-like Alphyn's head is a blend between the shape of a lion's and a wolf's, with a squarish nose but overall being somewhat long. Alongside and under its neck, as well as clumped down its spine, are several quills that get thicker and taller near the center of it's back before easing back down towards the middle of its tail. It is covered in a thin layer of fur, except on its serpentine tail and dragon-like legs, where four long claws arm each limb. The second type of alphyn has more dragon-like traits; its face is long and pointed like a dragon's, its tongue is long and forked, and its body, unlike the other type of alphyn, is mostly covered in scales. The only fur that is found on this type of alphyn is the long, luxurious mane around its neck and the long line of fur down its spine that is mixed in with quills that are generally much shorter and thinner than the quills the first type of alphyn has. The mane tends to be longer on the males, with the mane on the females being barely longer than the rest of its fur. It has feathers mixed in with its mane and at the elbows of its legs, hinting that the creature may have once been able to fly but has evolved to be more of a land-based creature. It is thinner than the first type of alphyn due to usually living in more wide-open spaces that require it to chase down and eat swifter prey. Both alphyns have ears that are on the larger side, and both have small eyes that are somewhat sunken down in their faces. Both types reach average heights of about eight and a half feet tall; the first type weighs around 2,300 pounds, the second around 1,900. Their coloring usually matches their surroundings; while they have base colors, they can sometimes modify their colors to blend in, though this isn't a trait that every alphyn tends to have. The lion-like alphyns have been dubbed the Leon alphyns, the more dragon-like being titled the Draek alphyns.
Alphyns rely mostly on their physical prowess to hunt and win their battles. Leon alphyns usually trump Draek alphyns in terms of power, both with how much their bodies capable of lifting and swiping large animals such as deer several feet with ease. Their bite force, which reaches up to 20,000 psi - four times as much as the bite force of large crocodiles - is in most cases fatal. The Draek alphyns are considerably faster than their heavier counterparts, making up for their lack of power. Capable of reaching a speed of 200 miles per hour at their average trot, they have no issue keeping up with most prey and enemies. Both forms of alphyns have been shown to be capable of breathing fire, a trait they likely inherited from their dragon ancestors, but this ability is not a strong one. They cannot breathe a long stream of flames like dragons are capable of doing, and instead the flames just plume out from their mouths. This seems to be more of a display of hostility, used as a warning at least and as way to deal regular animals burns at most.
Alphyns are similar to wolves and lions in the sense that they prefer to travel with companions; that being said, usually only two alphyns travel together at a time when they're not raising young. These alphyns are commonly mates, but sometimes they travel with siblings or alphyns they encountered and grew close with platonically.
Alphyns give live birth to their young, which are called 'cups' for both breeds. Leon Alphyns are covered with a thin layer of fuzz that will eventually grow into the full coat they will sport as adults, and Draek alphyns' scales are soft to the touch, not quite hardening into the touch layer of protection it will later be. Neither of the breeds' cups will have quills when they are first born, armed only with tiny claws. Both are usually dark to be better hidden in small dens their parents make for them. At around the age of a month, Leon alphyns's fuzz will turn into soft fur that sticks out at odd angles, while the Draek alphyn's scales will start to harden; both types will brighten and start to develop their adult colors and markings. This is also around the time that their fangs will start to grow in. They will not be able to hunt and fight on their own until they are around three years old, at which point they will usually separate from their parents, either traveling together for a short time or completely going off on their own until they find a companion. On rare occasions, there will be times that the young will stay with their parents, or at least one (during the circumstances that the parents don't normally travel together) if they are born with some form of disability, the parents choosing to help them survive unless there is no hope of the cup doing so.
During mating season, many alphyns already travel with their chosen mates and will have the head-start of finding proper dens and cover over others that do only travel with family members and close friends. Those that travel with family or platonic companions will search the same area for mates, and will attempt to stay close during the raising of their young; if one does not take a mate, it will help it's companion or family member raise their own. It has been noted that, while Leon alphyns and Draek alphyns tend to be separate in most areas, they can still encounter each other and absolutely can mate and produce young together; the young do not have mixed traits of both and rather just end up being a draek-type or leon-type Alphyn. Until the cups are able to survive on their own, the alphyns are fiercely protective and caring towards their young, even taking care of the frail and sickly unlike other animals who might abandon their weaker young. Only when the cups are able to fend for themselves do the parents leave them to their own lives, either going together back on their journey or splitting up to go back with their companions.

Despite their name, research has shown that the magnificent dragon turtle, one of the titans of the seas, is not actually a dragon. While it is believed to have some dragon ancestors, it has developed into its own category of beast, and has adapted to life in the sea where its old dragon ancestors would not. To ancient civilizations that saw both the dragon and turtle as symbols of greatness, power, loyalty, and more, the dragon turtle became cherished and highly respected by most. Very intelligent, this beast was also respected for how it avoided harming elementals and would sometimes be encountered doing the opposite, occasionally helping those who were drowning in the ocean. Dragon turtles may have represented power, success, support, and more, but interestingly enough, these are traits that they respected in other creatures in turn, especially elementals; dragon turtles have even been known to swear their loyalty, or give temporary support, to such beings. Despite being relatively harmless towards elementals in the past, as the times changed, some elementals began to hunt dragon turtles for their nearly impenetrable shell and skin, hoping to use it all as armor or weapons, which caused dragon turtles to become more defensive towards elementals. Today, dragon turtles may attack if they believe an elemental poses some kind of threat to them.
When dragon turtles first appeared in the old days, there were apparently different types of dragons that fathered or mothered them. As a result, the dragon turtles that swim the continent's ocean today vary wildly in appearance from color all the way to body shape. While most share the same basic traits, there are some that may have developed differently throughout the years due to the temperature of their oceans and the prey they were able to find there. That being said, all dragon turtles can grow to a size of at least one-hundred feet in length and fifteen feet tall. All dragon turtles have shells and thick skin that is nearly impossible to pierce with normal weapons, leading it to be highly sought after for armor purposes, especially in the city of Kaiyou, where killing sea monsters for their skins is a warrior's ceremony. Besides these things, most dragon turtles are more or less unique, gaining and mixing traits from their parents and making them work to their advantage in the parts of the ocean they dominate.
A dragon turtle's impeccable defense is likely their greatest attribute. Their large size and powerful jaws that are loaded with fangs that can bite through a boat's hull are to be feared, but its shell and skin are what keep most from being able to deal damage back to it. Even their underbelly, despite being softer than its upper shell, is hard to crack with normal weapons and weak elemental attacks. The one ability that most dragon turtles seem to share with one another is their ability to swallow water and then spew it back out at temperatures that are scalding at their coolest and at a force that would knock the largest animals aside several feet. Any other traits that a dragon turtle might have depend on where they live and what they inherited from their parents; some are luminescent and trick the eyes of those that gaze upon them, while others may have electric bursts that will disable their prey and enemies, giving them enough time to either attack and devour them or escape if they wish to avoid the conflict.
Dragon turtles are similar to sea turtles in the way that, when they are ready to lay their eggs, they find a safe place on land rather than a space in the ocean. Most dragon turtles prefer to lay their eggs in coves and hidden caves, or even in overhangs of cliffs near the ocean, but if they cannot gain access to any such place, they will bury their eggs in the sand of the beach not frequented often by elementals or large beasts that would be able to devour them. Unlike sea turtles, dragon turtles usually lay up to two hundred and fifty eggs at a time, all shimmering with dark, gem-like colors, something that may have come from their dragon ancestors. The shells of the egg, while fragile in general, are far more difficult to break than a regular animal's egg; if one were to smash it with enough force it could break, but simply dropping it or tapping it isn't likely to be enough to break it.
Developing the eggs and laying so many at once, paired with the large amounts of energy that dragon turtle mothers put into finding the right place to lay her eggs, will often exhaust the dragon turtle mother. If it is possible, she spends the next month in the water near her eggs, keeping an eye on their progress while hunting and rebuilding her strength. After a month of incubating, the dragon turtle young will usually hatch to find their mother at their side, or somewhere very close in the ocean, ready to help them catch their first meal and protect them from predators.
When they are newly hatched, dragon turtles are around the same size of a newly hatched sea turtles, but it doesn't take more than a month or so of being under their mother's care that they grow to be at least about the size of a fully grown sea turtle. At this point, most dragon turtles will separate from their mother and start their own lives, feeding on small fish and other sea creatures and beginning to develop into the titans they will become. Some, however, have been known to stay with their mother for unknown reasons, with the mother permitting it.
Dragon turtles may or may not travel in groups called arribada depending on what they personally prefer to do and where in the world they live. Some love the company of others and hunt together, while others prefer to stay alone and go about their lives by themselves. When the time comes for dragon turtles to find a mate, there are a few different courting options that dragon turtles have been known to take; some will test each other's strength and skills by going into combat together, while others have been known to 'sing' to each other, something that dragon turtles sometimes do outside of courting and even to different species to show their trust in them. Depending on the dragon turtles themselves, the mate may only stick around until the female dragon turtle is undoubtedly pregnant, while others may pair together for life, though the mother almost always takes care of the eggs by herself.
While there are breeds of dragon turtles and individuals out of others that do not prefer to travel in groups, there appears to be a rule that all dragon turtles will follow the command of the dominant dragon turtle in that area. If they do not follow its wishes they will at least make sure to stay out of its way, unless they wish to challenge it for the role of being the dominant being in the nearby waters.

MELESTRIKIS
Known as curious and normally gentle creatures, Meletrikises are well-liked by many in all the Kingdom of Thule. Melestrikises tend to enjoy observing the actions of other beings, whether they are other animals and monsters or elementals that they happen upon. They are far more intelligent than the average normal badger, having intelligence close to that of an Elemental's, and enjoy learning more about the world around them as they go about their lives and try to survive. Though they are interested in the behavior of other beings, they prefer not to risk confrontation with beings that could pose a threat to them, and will often flee from Elementals and dangerous monsters that attempt to approach them. The abilities of the Melestrikis species were admired and, for some time, often sought after by Elementals for various reasons; some hoped to use the monsters while they mined, some wanted to use them for nefarious deeds, and some even hoped to make them a trending pet. The tendency of Melestrikises to fight back if they are cornered or captured made taming them a difficult and lengthy process, so attempts to do so became less frequent and encouraged as time went on.
Melestrikises share most of their appearance traits with that of the Meles Meles of the Mustelidae family; they are sturdy creatures with longish bodies, short and stocky legs, and a long, narrow head. Their eyes and ears are small, and their coats usually take on black, white, silver-grey, and brown coloring, having the same facial and body markings as a normal badger would. Normally the Melestrikis is even the same size as the badgers they look so similar to, the adults matching the sizes of adult badgers and the young matching the sizes of adolescent badgers. Unlike Meles Meles, however, the Melestrikis species has the ability to increase their size drastically, with adults being able to reach an average of twelve feet tall, towering over elementals and several other creatures. When young Melestrikis finally reach adolescence, they are able to reach heights of around ten feet tall. Their claws are thick and durable, able to cut through solid steel and even harder substances with ease, a trait that allows them to dig comfortably without expending too much energy.
The ability of Melestrikises to change their size, paired with their overwhelmingly powerful claws, are their main tools to use in combat. They avoid conflict whenever they can, but a cornered Melestrikis is a dangerous monster to try to take on, especially for inexperienced Elementals or monsters that do not know what to expect or haven't seen battle frequently. Melestrikises are surprisingly swift even in their larger forms; when they face an opponent who is faster than them, or has faster attacks, they will strategically switch back to their smaller form to avoid getting hit. The monster or Elemental that missed their target will be left trying to spot the Melestrikis, which will give the creature time to either run and take cover or to get behind or underneath its enemy, growing in size once more to attempt to finish them off. Despite Melestrikis battles being dangerous for the creature's enemies, Melestrikises have been known to leave their attackers alive if they make the judgment that they don't face the risk of being attacked by them again. If they decide their attacker is a future threat, however, they will not hesitate to finish them off.
Like Meles Meles, Melestrikises prefer to live in family groups, but it isn't uncommon to see the monsters branch off to search for their own mates and homes. Melestrikises are typically monogamous, finding a compatible mate and remaining by each others' sides until one passes or gets separated without hope of return. It isn't uncommon for Melestrikises to take a new mate if their previous one passed, but it has been observed that some never take another mate, preferring to remain with their still-living family or travel alone rather than try to build a new family.
The breeding cycle of Melestrikises isn't always set to a specific schedule, but most attempt to try and conceive with their mates during the months of late November through to late January. Their pregnancies typically last up to six or seven weeks, and most Melestrikises give birth to their cubs in the months of January through to March. The typical amount of cubs that a Melestrikis mother will have is around two, with six usually being the most a Melestrikis mother can have and afford to properly tend to. The mother will almost always give birth in her larger form to make the process less painful, and the young are always born in their small forms, looking like a common newborn badger.
At first, the mother Melestrikis needs to constantly be at her cubs' sides, as they will require her milk frequently. It is only when they reach around eight to ten weeks old that the mother Melestrikis will be able to go out for short periods of time and help her mate, and possibly any former cubs she's had, hunt and gather food for the family. She will usually return to the sett or nest she has her cubs within frequently throughout the day and night, both because they will still need her milk for a couple more weeks and because Melestrikises desire and cherish the time they will spend connecting with their young. At eight to ten weeks old, the Melestrikis cubs will be old enough to start leaving their hideaways and will start to change their milk-based diet into that of an adult's.
Melestrikises have the average lifespan of twenty-five years in the wild. On rare occasions, there have been those in captivity that have lasted up to forty years due to good health, a good environment, and a constant supply of food with little to no fear of intervention or danger from others. When members of a colony pass, some Melestrikises have been known to mourn for their lost loved one; the surviving members will work together to bury the deceased, especially if the deceased in question passed away while in their larger form.
The most well-known Melestrikis in recorded history was a creature named Gaia. A little over three years ago, there was an aristocratic family in Yuseong City in the Kingdom of Agartha besides the Mendoza Clan. The Gala family, a predominantly Ice-Elemental family, tamed a larger-than-normal Melestrikis they named Gaia that served them well and caught the attention and admiration of Yuseong citizens. Unfortunately, there are only so many records of the family and their gentle giant guardian, as the Mendoza family and the angry citizens that eventually drove them out of power took down and discarded most of their symbols and documents, wanting to ensure the memory of them did not last. None of the Gala family, nor their guardian Gaia, have been seen since their banishment.

WOLTAGES
Woltages are creatures with highly revered intelligence and adaptability that can be found all throughout Thule, though most tend to live and thrive in forests of Arcadia and the deserts of Muspell. Woltages have always been desired by Elementals all around the continent, whether it was to be used as work animals, companions, or even symbols of power, but the nature of woltages have made them nearly impossible to tame unless Elementals raised them since pup-hood. The behavior and lifestyle of woltages raised in the wild differ from each individual, making no two cases too alike past their beginnings, and it is precisely these traits that have made researchers so interested in documenting more about this creature.
Woltages have various small details that differ depending on what piece of the world they call their territory, the prey that they typically feast on, and the host-pack that takes them in. Woltages that live in colder areas will have longer and thicker fur, while those that live in the desert will have short and thin pelts that blend in with the sandy and rocky scenery. The basic traits that they all share, however, is that they all appear to be a mix between wolves and deer, and usually are the size of horses with legs that, at times, look too long in comparison to the rest of their body. Growing atop their heads are what appear to be deer antlers, but it turns out that these are actually horns that do not shed; their shapes differ depending on the different factors that were listed before. There are even legends throughout the world that state that the decisions that a woltage makes throughout their lives will have a factor in determining what shape their horns take. Poking out of their long muzzles are long and sharp canine teeth, much like a deadly viper's set of fangs, that they use frequently throughout their lives, be it for hunting or self-defense. Protruding out from along their spines and from their shoulders are long, porcupine-quill-pike spikes that they do shed, though not all at once; the quill-spikes will fall and regrow at different times, never leaving the Woltage completely without any, and most of the time the differences aren't noticeable. Their claws have grown close together to the point that they resemble a deer's hooves. Woltages are capable of making a variety of sounds, including bird-like chirps, barking, snarling, growling, howling, trills, yips, whistles, and chuffs.
When it comes to gender differences, there are two very noticeable physical traits that can help identify which sex a woltage is. The less noticeable, and not as dependable difference, is the fact that females are generally larger than males. The females generally reach a height of six feet and weight of 2,800 lbs, while males usually grow to a height near five and a half feet with a weight of 2,350 lbs. The largest female ever recorded reached a height of seven and a half feet, the largest recorded male reaching six and a half. The obvious difference between the sexes is that of their tails; the females have a long and narrow tail that ends with a large amount of fluff at the end, many speculating that it is used for navigation much like a cat's whiskers would be. The male, unlike the female, does not have extra fluff at the end of their tails, but rather a single venomous, retractable stinger.
The intelligence of woltages far exceeds that of the two animals it resembles, and it is, in fact, smarter than many other monsters. Woltages are quick learners and are capable of learning from mistakes they may have made in the past, recognizing what went wrong and planning a way to rectify that shortcoming in future experiences. They can use logic to accurately figure out the probabilities of certain situations and act accordingly to get to the outcomes they desire. These extend to every part of their lives, be it fitting in with host-packs or interacting with other creatures. Woltages have fantastic memories and are capable of remembering faces, places, and events that happened even during the earliest days of their puphood. When raised near or by Elementals, they are capable of understanding several complex languages, and even when they aren't, they are capable of learning what certain words mean within moments by studying an Elemental and seeing how they act or what they do when they use them.
Woltages have a gentle side to them that they display mostly only to the members of their host-pack. This gentleness allows most of them to be phenomenal potential caretakers to both the youths of their host pack and, depending on the overall behavior of their host-pack towards such members, those that have grown too old or weak to care for themselves properly without supervision and aid. The closer they are with an older or disabled member of their host-pack, the more likely they are to go out of their way to tend to and even hunt for that member, as long as it won't endanger their position in the host-pack. If their host-pack has rough-housing and play-fighting as part of their daily lifestyles a woltage will not hesitate to participate, but they never move to seriously harm or kill said packmates unless their lives are somehow threatened first.
Wild-raised woltages are, at best, wary and cautious when interacting with Elementals, but each woltage's behavior is unique based on their differing experiences. Woltages that have never encountered Elementals before in their lives typically treat Elementals with caution, especially if they are lone woltages with no host-pack. Those in host-packs will watch how their own host-packs treat Elementals and will adjust themselves to act accordingly. Trust means a lot to woltages, and though it is extremely difficult to do, if an Elemental proves that they can be trusted, woltages typically treat them - at the least - better, accepting their presence unless given reason not to. Whether or not an Elemental has good intentions, woltages will get territorial if an Elemental trespasses on their territory, and will do what they can to either make the Elemental leave. If raised by Elementals since puphood, woltages are much more trusting of Elementals, but they aren't tamed. They will see the Elemental as their host-pack member, and if the Elemental does anything to betray their trust, they will attempt to leave. If raised under the care of an Elemental, they can be well-trained enough to understand various commands, though the training's difficulty will depend entirely on what the Elemental wants the woltage to do and learn.
When it comes to other monsters, woltages treat different monsters like most animals would treat others; they see some creatures as prey, some as animals they do not interact with, and others as predators or enemies that must be avoided or fought if encountered. The animals are different depending on whether or not the woltage is part of a host-pack and what that host-pack typically deals with, but the same logical rules apply to each woltage. There is no creature that woltages naturally hate more, however, than other members of their own kind. Woltages are very hostile to each other and will fight if they encounter one another. The only exceptions to this behavior is a two-week period during the fall where woltages search for mates.
The hunting styles of Woltages differs depending on the territory they are in, the prey they hunt, and sometimes on the hunting styles of the host-pack that takes them in. Lone Woltages without host-packs have been observed being very crafty during their hunts, creating and utilizing primitive traps by using the environment resources they have around them. Most of the traps lone Woltages set up have the purposes of scaring prey where the woltage lying in wait so they can rip it apart or to slow prey down during the hunt; an example of the latter is when Woltages dig holes in paths they know their prey frequents or will take in the near future, all in the hopes that the prey will either trip or, depending on its size, fall inside. Their intelligence allows them to study the behavior, tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses of their prey, making hunts go smoother.
The combat styles of woltages also depend on their environments and host-packs at times, but when based entirely on instincts, the two genders have different tendencies. Female woltages, being the more aggressive gender of the species, mainly use their fangs in battle, only using their claws when they have gotten their prey firmly captured. Their horns and quills are used more frequently in defensive measures. Males are more focused on using their claws and will rear back to not only have a better range and strike force, but also so that they can strike at their enemies with their venomous tails. Female woltages seem to be more in-tuned with the emotions of other creatures, and she may use this to either better understand them, be it for good or bad reasons. Both seem to be able to utilize a frequency that no-one else can hear, but this hasn't been proven as fact.
During the two-week period of their mating season, woltages will not treat each other with the same hostility immediately, more interested in finding a compatible partner within the limited timeframe they have. When a female finds a male she prefers, she will hunt for the freshest, best prey to offer him, and will circle the male while offering it, her quills raised and out on full display. If the female woltage is too eager, or if the male does not think she is a compatible mate, he will drive her away by striking near or at her with his stringer. If he accepts her affections and advances, he will lead her to a carefully chosen den that is outside, but still near, his own territory where they proceed to court one another in the hopes of successfully making pups. After the courting and mating season is done, the two woltages will return to their homes and treat each other as icily as before. During future mating seasons, woltages prefer to seek out previous mates, but if they cannot find them for various reasons, they will take on another mate. They will always prefer mates in the order that they had them.
A mother woltage is typically pregnant for around eleven to twelve months, and the average number of pups she has in a litter is around four or five. She will attempt to raise her pups within her host-pack, but if the host-pack poses a danger towards her pups, she will relocate to to a safe location in order to give birth and keep her pups safe. The pups are born resembling the pups of ordinary wolves, with small, chubby bodies and nub-like claws. The mother will spend a year and a half raising her pups, only leaving them alone to hunt and patrol, doing her best not to leave them vulnerable for long. The mother only allows them to join her outside their den when they are old enough to be weened; the mother will not allow them to go far until she has taught them the basics, and within a week or so, she fully abandons them to live on their own. The mother will then try to rejoin her host-pack; if they refuse her, she will become a loner until a new host-pack takes her in or until she dies.
At weening age, the legs of woltage pups will have grown in length, looking disproportionately long, and their claws will have become small trowels on their large paws. Their horns will begin to grow in, and their tails will begin to change. The female's quills will have begun to grow as dull and stiff tufts, and the male will be able to partially extend. When they reach adolescence, their muscles will bulk up in areas of their body that will contribute to their daily lives; the female's quills will sharpen, though will not be fully grown, and the males will be able to mostly extend their stingers, now having venom. In adulthood, females will have full-length quills and fur along the ends of their tails that are long enough to droop down, and males are able to fully control and extend their stingers and venom.

To Be Decided -Alphyn (completed, see monster list)
-Amaru: In Inca mythlgy, an amaru is a gigantic dual-headed serpent that likes to make its home at the bottom of lakes and rivers wide and deep enough to hold it. They have also been depicted with puma or bird heads. They seem to be able to travel to and from the spiritual realm. Anguilliformes -Abaia: A giant eel creature that lives at the bottom of freshwater lakes, it is extremely protective of the fish and creatures that live in/directly near their waters. If anyone harms anything that lives in its home, it will cause a storm and drown their attacker.Annelids -Tlanusi: A giant leech the size of a house. It would travel in water, which would bubble around it, and would create geysers so that it's prey would be blown up, then fall down from high heights. It would then eat their prey, especially savoring their ears and nose.
-Minhocão: A giant worm that reaches between 20-80 meters long. It lives in lakes and drags prey underwater. It has a visible mouth. Some say it never rises to the surface, others say that it does and leaves deep trenches where it travels. Seeing them is like a sign of incoming rain.Antelope and Deer -Keresh: A massive deer with a single antler in the middle of it's forehead that is jet-black. It's hide is said to be 28.3 feet long.
-Peryton: The peryton is said to have the head, neck, forelegs and antlers of a stag, combined with the plumage, wings and hindquarters of a large bird, although some interpretations portray the peryton as a deer in all but coloration and bird's wings. According to Borges, perytons lived in Atlantis until an earthquake destroyed the civilization and the creatures escaped by flight. A peryton casts the shadow of a man until it kills one during its lifetime, at which time it starts to cast its own shadow.Anthropods -Karkinos: A giant fucking crab. It was made into a constellation in a Greek myth.Arthropods -Djieien: A six-feet tall spider that could not be killed unless one found their heart, which they hide underground.Bats --Bears -Golden Bear: A big-ass golden-colored bear. (In this, it could perhaps be that it's pelt is actually golden, or sought-after for more reasons.) -Nandi Bear: Giant bear. -Owlursus: Half-bear, half-owl. Also called Owlbear.Beavers -Afanc: A half-beaver, half-crocodile creature that eats anything that gets too close to the lakes it lives in. It's thrashes can cause some flooding, but it is significantly weaker the instant it is out of the water.Birds -Ababil: Not gonna keep it unless you like it. It's a type of bird that travels in flocks. In certain myths, a flock of these dropped rocks on invaders.
-Adar Llwch Gwin: A creature like a griffin.
-Adar Rhiannon: Birds with a song that can wake the dead and put the living to sleep. It has an effect on space, as they can seem closer or farther than they really are.
-Adarna: A beautiful bird whose long tail is decorated in shiny metallic colors that change with each song it sings; it has seven songs that it sings, all with different powers. It can cure disease, restore lost health, cause slumber, and bring tranquility. It’s droppings can petrify people.
-Alicanto: A bird whose feathers shine at night with beautiful metallic colors that tend to change depending on what types of ore it eats. It cannot fly because of the weight it gains from eating ore, so it runs quickly around on the ground. Many try to follow it to find the ores and gems it eats; if they have a good heart the Alicanto might lead them to it, but if the human is bad, they will turn off the shining of their feathers and lead the ill-natured people off of cliffsides to their deaths.
-Anqa: A four-winged bird with a long neck, a white patch against its throat. It eats elephants and large fish. It is very intelligent, living for 1700 years. It gives advice to people. (It apparently is sometimes seen with a human face but for this rp, not a chance.)
-Basan: A large chicken that breathes non-burning ghost-fire that is more of a glow. It materializes in villages at night. When it flaps its wings, an eerie rustling sound can be heard, and when people hear this and look outside to see it, its form will disappear.
-Bennu: Might not keep this. Sacred bird of Heliopolis, it represented the sun and the soul of the sun god Ra. Was the lord of the royal jubilee. Associated with creation. To the Greeks, however, it was a type of phoenix. (If I kept this, it would be a phoenix subclass.)
-Broxa: A bird that arrives at night to suck goat milk at night. It sometimes sucks human blood.
-Byangoma: Birds that are sightless at birth, and can only gain sight if someone donates a few drops to them. They are wise and fortune-telling, helping those that deserve it.

-Chol: A type of phoenix. Its name also means sand.
-Cikavac: A pelican-like bird that would suck the honey from beehives and milk from cows owned by other people and bring them to their owners. It would grant it's owners wishes and could give them the ability to speak to animals.
-Cinnamon Bird: Might not keep this. A big-ass bird that made nests out of cinnamon.
-Cu Bird: A bird that thought it was ugly. In one version of the story, every bird gave it one of their feathers, and it became narcissistic, unable to look away from them. When a bird meeting was held, it was supposed to deliver the message but got distracted by its plumage. The birds fought over who was to blame and the ruckus angered a god that took away their speech. The birds punished the Cu Bird and owl by forcing them to come out only at night. In a different version, as soon as the Cu Bird has pretty feathers it leaves and betrays everyone, so the owl is punished. (The owl suggests the Cu bird gets feathers in both stories.) -Elwetritsch: A bird with a long beak, antlers, and scales instead of feathers. It resembles a chicken, and its wings are nearly useless.
-Fenghuang: Called the Chinese phoenix, but there aren't many similarities with phoenixes. "According to the Erya's chapter 17 Shiniao, fenghuang is made up of the beak of a rooster, the face of a swallow, the forehead of a fowl, the neck of a snake, the breast of a goose, the back of a tortoise, the hindquarters of a stag and the tail of a fish. Today, however, it is often described as a composite of many birds including the head of a golden pheasant, the body of a mandarin duck, the tail of a peacock, the legs of a crane, the mouth of a parrot, and the wings of a swallow." It originated in the sun and only shows up in areas of peace and prosperity. Sometimes it's seen with fire. In some myths, the males are called feng and the females huang, though in later myths they were made into one.
-Firebird: A large bird with feathers that emit red, orange, and yellow light. It has glowing eyes, and even after the feather falls off and the creature dies, it continues to glow beautifully. Firebirds aren't friendly and will be hostile towards others. One myth says that only those with pure hearts that want to do good for others can see its feathers' beautiful colors.
-Furaribi: A large fiery bird-like creature with the face of a dog. It is said to be born of the flames that are made when the souls of those buried without memorial are left to roam.
-Gagana: A bird with an iron beak and copper talons. It makes a good guard.
-Gandaberunda/Berunda: Two-headed bird with immense strength that is large enough to eat elephants like oatmeal pies.
-Garuda: Big kite-like bird that can go fast. (He also has a human form but we're ignoring that for this.)

-Itsumade: A bird with saw-like teeth, a curved beak, a snake-like body, sword-sharp talons, and a wingspan of 15 feet. It arrives when there is massive amounts of despair, illness, and death in an area and cries out, "Until when?!" It does this around dead bodies on battlefields as well, some saying they're born from the souls that died on said battlefield. The "until when" means, "Until when will this illness end?" or, "Until when will this corpse lie here?" Basically, "Until when will this stop."
-Jiān: A bird born with only one leg and one wing. In order to fly, it must find it's perfect partner. (They are also born with one eye but I might ignore that.)
-Konrul and Turul: Large birds large enough to carry elephants. They are "twin" birds; Konrul is always female, and Turul is always male. Konrul (and likely Turul) birds can reincarnate, and if you burn the feather of a Konrul that trusts you, it will come to your aid.
-Lightningbird: A human-sized black and white bird that is also called an Impundulu. It manifests in the form of lightning often, but to unsuspecting people, they will show their bird forms. -Mulduwanke: An owl-like bird like the Minka bird, except instead of predicting death, it stole children.
-Nachtkrapp: A giant, nocturnal, raven-like bird with empty eye sockets and hole-filled wings. If one looks into their eye sockets they will die, and if one looks at their wings, they will grow ill. Some myths say that they hunt children at night and devour them, while others say they just flap their wings ominously to terrify children into silence. In one tale it will fly into kid's windows to sing them to sleep.
-Nine-headed Bird: A bird like a phoenix, but with nine heads.
-Oozlefinch: A featherless bird that somehow is flightless but always flies backward to keep dust, trivia, and other issues out of its eyes.
-Oozlum bird: A bird large enough to carry a man. It will fly in circles that get smaller and smaller until it disappears up it's own ass. (This could be changed to teleporting.)
-Orphan Bird: A bird that had a peacock's neck, an eagle's beak, a swan's feet, and a crane's body. It would lay its eggs in the sea. The good eggs would float, while the bad eggs would sink.
-Peng: A gigantic bird that transforms from the Kun (will be seen in the fish category.)
-Phoenix: A fire-covered and producing bird that, once it dies, a new phoenix is born from the ashes.
-Picolaton: A scary bird said to bite the heels and asses of kids that are being annoying.
-Qingniao: Green and/or blue birds that made good messengers and stuff. They can have one, two, or even three legs. (Maybe I will say the more legs, the more talented the messenger and carrier.)
-Raróg: A falcon-like bird like a phoenix.

-Tigmamanukan: An omen-giving bird. It was believed that if a Tigmamanukan flew over one on a journey, the direction the bird went would determine the chances of success. If it flew to the right it would be fine, while if it flew to the left it would fail. People would capture and cut the bird's beaks, then try to convince them that they had set them free from a trap, so it would be wise to fly over them to the right in return.
-Ulama/Devil Bird: A bird that lets out bloodcurdling, human-like screams that foretold the death of anyone who heard them.
-Valravn: A half-wolf, half-raven creature that is born from the corpses of those that died on a battlefield. Apparently ravens that eat the dead bodies can also become valravns.
-Weejy Weejy bird: A bird with only one wing that only allows it to fly in circles.
-Zhenniao: A bird that is poisonous in every single part of its body, the poison being nearly unparalleled.
-Ziz: A type of gigantic griffin. Shown frequently with Behemoth and Leviathan. Bovines -Taurokampus: A creature with the front half of a bull or cow and the back half of a fish.
-Ophiotaurus: A creature with the front half of a bull or cow and the back half of a serpent. It was said that if someone burned it's entrails, it would grant them the power to overthrow all the gods.

-Kujata/Kuyootà: "A cosmic bull with 40,000 horns and legs, or as many eyes, ears, mouths and tongues in the oldest sources. The number of appendages can vary in later versions. Its breathing is said to control the tides of the ocean." He helps Bahamut hold up the world. In this it would be a type of gigantic bull with a few sets of horns (maybe five sets) and maybe some extra eyes that glimmers like starlight and has some water abilities.Camelids -Allocamelus: A creature with the head of a donkey and the body of a camel.Canines -Amarok (completed, see monster list)
-Aralez: Winged wolf-like creatures that spend their lives almost constantly in the air and mountains. When there is battle, they have been said to come down and lick the wounds of dead heroes to revive them.
-Black Dog: A nocturnal apparition of a dog that is compared to hellhounds. Most are considered to be sinister and malevolent with a few of these being outright dangerous. Only a small amount of Black Dogs have been considered good.
-Cadejo: A type of cow-sized dog, sometimes depicted with the hooves of deer or goats, and sometimes having bull characteristics. Pairs of Cadejos are said to appear to people on journeys; one is there to help, while the other is there to kill the traveler. Usually the good Cadejo is white and the other black, but the colors have been switched in the past. Both have burning red eyes. Turning one's back to a Cadejo, or trying to talk to one, will drive them insane if the Cadejo so wishes.
-Calopus: A wolf-like creature that also has characteristics of a feral cat, a boar, and some kind of reptile. It has large and serrated ram horns that are sturdy enough for a calopus to headbutt a tree and knock it over without fear of them breaking.
-Cù-sìth: Similar to Cŵn Annwn, it will let out three barks so loud it could be heard for miles by those keeping an ear out. If someone did not get to safety by the third bark, they would suddenly die of terror. They are shaggy, dark green, and the size of a small cow.
-Cŵn Annwn: Spectral hounds that were associated with the Wild Hunt. If one hears their howls, it is said they will die shortly after. They are loudest when they are far away and will get quieter the closer they get to something.
-Enfield: A half-fox, half-hawk creature. It's body is mostly similar to a fox's, but larger; it has feathers against it's spine, the back of its hind legs, and tail, and wings are attacked to the back of its forelegs.
-Freybug: A creature like the Black Dog, but with no fur, capable of breathing flame.
-Gonakadeit: A half-orca, half-wolf creature. Sometimes they bring good luck and prosperity, and other times they will drag unsuspecting visitors in small boats to the bottom of the sea.
-Hellhound: A hound that can breathe and engulf itself in blazing flames. Hearing its howls was said to be either an omen or cause of death, and looking into its eyes more than three times was rumored to cause death. In this RP they would be able to grow to massive sizes.
-Kitsune: A fox creature that grows more tails the older it gets, gaining up to a number of nine. They are able to see and sense things happening far away. "Other supernatural abilities commonly attributed to kitsune include possession, generating fire or lightning, willful manifestation in the dreams of others, flight, invisibility, and the creation of illusions so elaborate as to be almost indistinguishable from reality. Some tales speak of kitsune with even greater powers, able to bend time and space, drive people mad, or take fantastic shapes such as an incredibly tall tree or a second moon in the sky. Other kitsune have characteristics reminiscent of vampires or succubi, and feed on the life or spirit of human beings, generally through sexual contact." (No sexual contact in this sakfsdf)
-Penghou: A tree spirit that takes the form of a black dog with no tail. When it reaches 1000 years old, it is said to turn into a Jiafei, a pig-like creature whose meat tastes like dog meat. When the Penghou's tree is cut, it will bleed red.
-Raijū: A creature of lightning that takes the form of a blue and white wolf. Normally it is well-behaved, but during thunderstorms, it will get very agitated and dash across trees, fields, and even buildings. It's cry sounds like thunder.
-Sha/Salawa: More commonly known as the Set animal. A slender canine that resembled greyhounds and jackals with a straight, stiff tail, and usually with straight and stiff postures. It is usually black but sometimes reddish. They are animals that represent chaos and destruction. (In this I might have them be misunderstood like death and chaos elementals.)
-Theow: A creature with the body of a wolf (but larger) and the legs of a goat (but shorter). In the winter it had thick fur and a colorful mane, but during the summer it loses all fur.
-Tibicena/Guacanchas: An evil being that took the form of a large black dog with red eyes. It would attack humans and livestock, mostly at night, and usually live in caves within the mountains.
-Zburator: Half-wolf, half-dragon appearing creature.Caprids -Buraq: In myths, the only surefire physical traits this creature has it that it is white, has long ears, has wings on its thighs, and is bigger than a donkey but smaller than a mule. In this it would be definitely more goat-like; it has a wide set of wings on it's back and a long feathered tail. In mythology, it was a mount and transport for prophets and important people. Perhaps, like pegasai in this RP, it only allows good (or, perhaps, just important and powerful) people to ride them, and are a symbol of power.
-Golden Ram/Sheep: Basically the origin of the Golden Fleece. (In Greek mythology there was a golden fleece that people wanted. It uh. It's gold. In some things it could heal people? But yeah they're sheep with very valuable fleece.

-Sea Goat: Literally just capricorn.
-Takam: The king of goats.
-Yale: A goat (or antellope) creature with boar tusks and horns that can twist in any direction. Equines -Abath: A creature somewhat like a unicorn, but where the unicorn was always portrayed as male, the abath was always portrayed as female. Powder made from its horn could be made into an aphrodisiac and as an antidote to poison.
-Apaosha: A horse that represents deadly drought. It saw its nemesis, Tishtrya (horse of rainfall) trying to do its rainy thing and it was like, "Fuck you, no water allowed," and defeated it in battle briefly until Tishtrya got a sacrifice from a god and came back to curve-stomp Apaosha's ass. It would be interesting if these horses were used by the water kingdom and fire kingdom in battle against each other due to their natural hatred of each other.
-Aughisky: A water horse that likes to trick people into riding it so that it can eat them. Unlike some other water horses, they can be made into reliable and fantastic steeds if they are kept away from big bodies of water.
-Bayard (Bay Horse): A bay horse with the ability to adjust its size to accommodate the number of its riders. It understands human speech but cannot talk itself.
-Caballo marino chilote: A mostly-horse creature with fish features. They can come in many sizes. It is similar to the hippocampus.
-Cheval Mallet: A "fabulous and evil" horse that would arrive at night to lure people to ride them, taking the form of a beautiful horse. If the riders had money to pay for the ride or had a protection spell they'd be returned, but if not, they'd never be seen again.
-Chollima/Qianlima: Basically a Chinese Pegasus but FUCKING FAST BRO. It is said to be too quick and too elegant for any mortal to ride it. In this RP it'd remain mostly the same; I might add that they were used as messengers a lot during war and might be used like police horses in modern times. In contrast to the pegasus that only allows pure people to ride it, the Chollima just would prefer not to be ridden at all, but won't throw a hissy if they're broken in like most horses.
-Drapé: A horse associated with death that shows up at night to abduct children. (It might be interesting if they aren't so much as abducting every child but taking away Death Elemental kids that are being abused?)
-Each-uisge: So like this dude was a water horse like the kelpie and a bunch of others but has been described as the most dangerous. In most myths it is a shape-shifter but IGNORE THAT IT'LL JUST BE A HORSE HERE. If someone rides it while on dry land they're safe, but if the Each-uisge even sees water, it will bolt and take it's rider to the bottom of the water (if there is enough water), drown them, then rip their bodies apart, eating every part except the liver. One instance says the Each-uisge has a beak and like okay sure that is a thing but maybe not in this RP.
-Enbarr: A horse that could run across the land and sea. A good boy.
-Ethiopian pegasus: So like, a Pegasus. But. Ethiopian. It also has two horns. Would be different from a regular Pegasus in other ways than just the horns.
-Haizum: Kinda like a pegasus but it is on fire. In the myths it can fly from one cosmic plane to another. In Islamic tradition, it was the steed of the archangel Gabriel. A flame boi. Idk about the cosmic plane thing but I was thinking of making this a steed for the fire goddess, and maybe that is where the cosmic plane power comes from. (Not that they actually have it, but that people THINK they have it and just have never seen it, or that it was bred out of them.)
-Helhest: A three-legged horse that is associated with death and illness. Most depictions show them as ghastly-looking, and it looks like it SHOULD have four legs but one is gone, leaving nothing or leaving a nub where it should be.
-Hippalectryon: A creature with the front half of a horse and the back half of a rooster.
-Hippocampus: A creature with the upper half of a horse and the bottom half of a fish. In some myths they also have wings, but I probably wouldn't give them wings in this. (Unless their other parent is a pegasus but you know.) You confirmed this before, I believe.
-Kelpie: A creature like other water horses that sometimes drags victims underwater to eat. Unlike most other water horses, Kelpies do have some good myths where they are helpful and kind rather than malicious and flesh-thirsty. In some myths they are solitary, and in others they are herd creatures. Some say that a kelpie is different from the each-uisge by the fact that the each-uisge stays by lakes while kelpies stay by rivers, but this isn't a common distinction. Like most faerie creatures, Kelpies can be severely wounded and killed with iron, as well as silver. If someone touched its flank, if the Kelpie wanted to cause harm, the hand would stick without hope of coming off, and that is how the person would always be dragged in.
-Longma: A horse with dragon scales. It was an omen of a legendary ruler. (Maybe another creature that aristocrats have to show off their power. Not necessarily as guardians, but as steeds for things.)
-Mares of Diomedes: Wild and violent man-eating horses. They become calmer after eating flesh, but depending on the myth, it is either permanent or not. (In one myth they remain calm forever, but in another Heracles tries to sacrifice them to Zeus and Zeus refuses the sacrifice, instead sending bears, wolves, and lions to slaughter the horses.) These creatures could have been used by some kingdom in times of war.
-Monoceros: A creature related to a unicorn. It has the body of a horse, the head of a stag, the legs of an elephant and the tail of a wild boar in most myths, as well as a single horn. (In this I would make it a horse-deer creature with a single antler as a horn, probably.) They are wild and terrible beasts that are impossible to capture alive, with all of their nearly invincible strength lying in their horns. -Morvarc'h: A horse capable of galloping across waves and breathing fire from its nostrils.
-Neck/Nicor/Nokk/Nix/Nixie/Nixy/Nokken: Okay bro, bro. Listen dude. Okay so like this is basically another water horse but a Scandinavian one. But like I mentioned before that all water horse myths have them as shapeshifters and I was like B/ because no, we don't need them turning into sexy men and ladies. But bro what if. What if this is the ONE creature that IS a shapeshifter but it usually just takes the form of a water horse? (I still wouldn't allow it to turn into humans.) Idk why but I really like that it literally has seven different versions of the name. Like I know why I like it - it would be REALLY COOL if all seven kingdoms had a slightly different name for it, shows variety - but sfsjdkf yeah anyway! Apparently if you slice a cross into its back you can control it (might change that to something less biblical cuz yikes) and in the myths where it shows up as a sexy man, if a woman knew who he was and said so he'd just be like. "Oh. Oh, okay I'll. I guess I have to. Go back in my lake now. B-bye, I guess." And wouldn't eat her. So like minus the sexy man part maybe if someone recognizes what it is it just goes. "...okay so you're not my next meal got it." Why would it do this? Who knows, why do most of the mythological creatures that exist do the things they do? Okay I've said enough about one creature move on Meteor but gosh I kinda like this one and hope we can keep it.
-Nuggle: Similar to kelpies and each-uisge beings, but Nuggles usually aren't malicious, usually just pranking humans and other animals rather than actually going through with drowning and eating anything. Overall it's a playful water horse and not an evil one.
-Pegasus: We talked about pegasai before a bit and I think we approved them back then. Winged horses, the first Pegasus was the son of Poseidon and Medusa. In this RP, a pegasus will only allow a rider to mount it if it is pure of heart or mostly pure of heart. If someone tries to force it to submit to them a pegasus would rather die trying to get out of its containment and servitude rather than comply.
-Sleipnir: A horse with eight legs that was the child of Loki and the stallion named Svaðilfari. A horse I don't think we need but could definitely be accepted; having four extra legs isn't as weird as other things here.
-Tangie: An ocean horse that is usually covered in seaweed. Like other water horses it likes to drag people under the water and eat them, but unlike others, it can cause madness and derangement to others around it.
-Tishtrya: A horse associated with life-giving rainfall and fertility. It was the nemesis of Apaosha, and the two frequently fought.
-Trojan Horse (but a golem?): Okay man so like the Greeks and Trojans were at war and the Trojans were sorta winning so the Greeks were like, "Let's trick them into thinking we're surrendering!" So they built a giant hollow wooden horse and put their best warriors inside, and the rest pretended to sail away. The Trojans took the horse inside and, when everyone went to sleep, the Greeks hopped out and killed people. In this RP it could be used as a golem or something similar, able to carry riders and hold things in its stomach.
-Tulpar: A creature like a pegasus who used its wings more for increasing their speed and not as much for flight. The area the myth is from used horses and birds for hunting, so the idea of the two animals fusing into the ultimate hunting animal formed. It might be better built for land movement than sky.
-Unicorn: A horse with a singular horn on its forehead. They are pure animals with horns that can be used to point out poison, be used as a dust to cure poison, and be used as a powder as an aphrodisiac. Unicorns hate lions, would rather die than be captured without their consent, and are usually described as gorgeous creatures.
-Wihwin: Basically a water horse like the others: horse that likes to drown and eat people. But! It is actually a sea-based horse and not a freshwater one. It has "jaws fenced round with horrid teeth" so that's kinda scary. Oh and another distinction? During the summer months it will actively leave its body of water and prowl around mountain ridges for more prey. ...dunno why it would need to do that during the summer and not the winter, when less people would go into the water, but hey maybe they like to go on summer vacations too.
-Uchchaihshravas: A seven-headed flying horse. I don't think we need this at all but wanted to provide it here cuz it IS a mythical horse.Felines -Ball-tailed Cat: A creature that shares some traits with mountain lions, having long tail with a mass at the end that it uses to cause blunt strike trauma to enemies. Some show the mass having a single stinger while others show them having spikes.
-Bakeneko: A creature similar to the nekomata except for the fact a Bakeneko only has one tail. Some myths say that cats will become bakeneko's when they hit 7/12/13 years, while others say that Bakeneko are cats that have come back to life after being brutally abused in order to get revenge against those that abused it. "The abilities attributed to bakeneko are various, including shapeshifting into humans, wearing a towel or napkin on the head and dancing, speaking human words, cursing humans, manipulating dead people, possessing humans, and lurking in the mountains and taking wolves with them to attack travelers." In a newspaper from 1992 people argued about a cat that they thought was speaking but it turns out it was only meowing and it sounded like a word. Because of this, I was thinking that perhaps Bakeneko can imitate some words but cannot speak thoroughly, and certainly not in sentences. It would be smart enough to understand humans when they speak and MAYBE they can speak telepathically but probably not. Shapeshifting into humans is a no, and I'll see what you think about manipulating dead bodies and cursing humans.
-Cabbit: Basically half cat, half rabbit.
-Cactus Cat: A cat covered in spikes that resemble a cactus's spines, though a lot are thicker and longer near its legs and its armored tail. It drinks cactus juice and screams at night, is hostile to anything that enters its territory, and mates for life, living for twenty to thirty years.
-Carbunclo: Basically a small cat-like creature that grows a gem in its forehead that can glow.
-Cat sìth: A cat that is the size of a dog and often described as black with a white chest. It is a spectral cat in most myths that (like this RP's death elementals) are thought to be able to steal souls. They are attracted to warmth, and they tend to like humans that leave milk out for them. (It says they'd curse those that didn't so that their cows would never produce milk again but like. Eh.) It'd be cute if this is an animal that a lot of death elementals in Death Society actually keep because they get the same reputation that death elementals do.
-Cath Palug: A cat with fish-like traits. In some poems and myths, this dude killed King Arthur. It seems pretty badass. Fishcat. ...CATFISH.
-Cha kla: A cat usually described as black whose fur grew from back to front and had red eyes. It was petrified of humans but, in many myths, were used somewhat like familiars by some to attack others. If they see a human coming they will quickly dig a hole and hide inside of it.
-Chinthe: A lion-like creature with some differences. In one myth a lady boinked a lion and then left him, so the lion got pissy and went on a rampage, only to be killed by the son he had with the lady later. When the son found out the lion he killed was his dad he made a statue of a chinthe to repent. Because of this, I think it would be interesting if the Chinthe sort of represented making up for your mistakes and being honest. It might favor those who do this over those that don't.
-Kasha: A (probably) cat-like monster that would arrive at funerals and cemeteries to steal the corpses of those that had died due to evils they had committed. Some say they arrived in burning chariots but. Bro these are cats, nah.
-Komainu: A creature like a lion whose statues are meant to protect against evil spirits, often seen in shrines. They are usually seen as a pair, one with its mouth closed, the other with its mouth open. I think it would be interesting if, because it is so often seen in pairs, that it is sort of a double-meaning for soulmates. Not entirely maybe, but more of a belief that some people have; like a Komainu can only fight against evil and prevail without harm with its partner. (This wouldn't necessarily be romantic. It could also tie-in with the Other Half myths that Gage likes to reference in accordance to himself and Zagan.)
-Leokampos: Half-lion, half-fish. Kind of like the Hippocampus but, you know, a lion. I am debating whether it can walk across land or not.
-Manticore: A creature of Persian myth with the body of a lion and a tail that either has venomous quills like a porcupine (which can be shot out like arrows) or a stinger like a scorpion's. (It is also seen with a human face sometimes but that would be left out.) It has three rows of teeth, eats its prey whole, and leaves no trace of those that it eats. In this RP it would be mostly just half-big cat instead of JUST a lion. It will have saber teeth and it will also have wings. (If approved ofc.)
-Matagot: A cat creature that is generally supposed to be evil, but if taken well-care of, can bring wealth as thanks to its owner. "Matagots are generally evil, but some may prove helpful, like the "magician cat" said to bring wealth into a home if it is well fed. Traditionally, a wealth-bringing matagot must be lured with a fresh, plump chicken, then carried home by its new owner without the human once looking back. If the cat is given the first mouthful of food and drink at every meal, it will repay its owner with a solid gold coin each morning." It could be cool if these animals often accompany thieves.
-Merlion: A creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. It has some really cool statues irl.
-Mishipeshu/Mishibijiw: A creature much like a long-necked panther with dragon-like features. "It has the head and paws of a giant cat but is covered in scales and has dagger-like spikes running along its back and tail." It makes its home in lakes and is the, "master of all water creatures, as well as snakes." They HATE thunderbirds. Like seriously they WILL throw paws with a thunderbird. When they roar or hiss it sounds like rushing, hissing, and crashing water, or even full-out thunderstorms. They weren't known to be fully good or fully evil; it just depends on the myth and circumstances.
-Nekomata: A two-tailed cat. They were as large as a dog and had a variety of bad-luck inducing powers. They could also control the recently deceased. A Nekomata is born when a cat, oftentimes abused, reaches an old age and its tail splits into either two full tails or a forked tail. The more abused they were as a cat, the more powerful they are as a nekomata. (In this RP they'd be more nekomata just born to other nekomata than created this way. I might take out the abused cats transforming idea overall.)
-Nemean lion: A creature in Greek myth whose pelt could not be pierced by normal weapons and had claws that could pierce through any armor. Herakles/Hercules only managed to kill it by strangling it with his bare hands. Its own claws can pierce its fur, and it's debatable whether it can be cut from the inside of its body or not. These creatures could have been hunted as the ultimate sport back in the day.
-Panthíras (I changed the name so it isn't just "Panther"): A creature that is a large, spotted cat with a multicolored hide. It would sleep in a cave for three days; when awoken, it will roar and emit a sweet odor that draws animals in for it to kill and eat. It'd then go back to sleep, and the process would repeat. Only dragons were said to be immune.
-Pard: A creature that is like the Panthíras. It can be good or bad.
-Pardalokampus: A creature that is half-leopard, half-fish.
-Sea-lion: A creature with the upper body of a lion, the tail of a fish, and webbed paws.
-Shedu: A lion-like creature with large rainbow-colored wings and tail feathers. It represents royalty and majestic people.
-Shisa: A creature like the Chinese guardian lion-dogs and the Komainu beings.
-Splintercat: A huge nocturnal feline monster that flies (jumps) around at such a great speed that it whistles when it does so, slamming into trees. When it hits a tree (to search for raccoons and bees), it will knock all of its branches off and withers the trunk if it doesn't just completely destroy it, turning it to splinters. It always bashes its head into the trees and it always has a headache because of it, which constantly has it in a foul mood.
-Troll cat: A cat that goes out and sucks milk from cows to bring home to their witch owners. It would also sneak into houses to eat cream.
-Wampus: A creature like an amphibious panther. To me it's like a combination of the Ball-tailed cat and Mishipeshu due to the fact that it is a water-panther (though minus the dragon parts) and sometimes is depicted with a ball-tail. It is also sometimes seen with six legs.
-Yule Cat: Literally just a giant cat that would eat people that did not get new clothes for Christmas. In real life it was a way for farmers to threaten their workers to process wool faster. In the RP, it would likely be changed to the Yule Cat attacking people that aren't dressed well and are skinny. My reasoning here is basically that the dirtier and skinnier someone is, and the more homeless or uncared for they appear to be, a Yule Cat will assume they will be less missed than others. This can be done either because the Yule Cat is trying to minimize the emotional damage it causes to its prey's "family" or herds or packs, or it could literally just be because the Yule Cat doesn't want to attack something that will get others mad enough at it to try and track it down. If that makes any sense.
-Zouyu: A creature that appears only during times of peace under a good ruler. It could be a ferocious beast if it wanted to be but it is strictly vegetarian; it looks like a white tiger with black stripes and spots.Fish -Bahamut: A gigantic fish (or whale) that was said to hold up the world with an ox. Obviously it wouldn't be as big in this but it would be really fucking massive, something that only lingers near the bottom of the ocean and appears very rarely.
-Beisht-Kione: A violent sea-creature with a black head that terrified sailors and fishermen.
-Charybdis: A daughter of Poseidon and Gaea that, after helping her father in his feud with Zeus, was cast into the sea by Zeus and cursed to turn into a monster with an unquenchable thirst for the water of the sea. She drinks sea water three times a day, making massive whirlpools. In this it would be a monster that tries to swallow ships this way.
-Iku-Turso: A massive sea-creature. Some say its mostly a bull, others say its a fish with bull-like features. In this it will be a fish-based sea-creature with fur, a lion-like face, and moose horns.
-Isonade: A huge shark-like sea monster covered in barbs.
-Kun: A giant fish that turns into the Peng. It'd be big with feathers in this RP.
-Mazomba: Big fish.
-Namazu: Big catfish that causes earthquakes. It lives in mud.
-Rainbow Fish: A rainbow-colored fish as big as a whale. It's scales were actually made up of elements; green scales were plants, blue scales were ice, yellow were lightning, red were fire.
-Salmon of Knowledge: A very smart fish. If you ate this fish, you'd get it's knowledge.
-Shachihoko: A fish with the face of a lion. In this it just might be a lion-like fish.
-Taniwha: A large shark monster; they are sometimes guardians to some, while others they will eat.

Hyenas -Crocotta: A large hyena-like creature that is very swift. The fame is rarely seen and has several variations of color in their eyes. They can imitate some human noises and the noises of other creatures to lure things where they want them. Insectivores -Lavellan: A creature that resembles a huge water shrew. It lives in or near lakes and is so poisonous that it can injure full-grown cattle a hundred feet away. Marsupials --Molluscs -Akkorokamui: A creature that resembles an octopus that is said to be able to reach 108 feet in length. It has a fair temperment and, though it CAN be fickle and hurt others if provoked, it instead is usually neutral with the ability to heal and bestow knowledge. It can self-amputate limbs, and it is very fond of gifts that are given to it, especially so when the gifts come from the sea.
-Kraken: A giant-ass squid that can and will sink ships and eat the passengers. It has spikes in its suckers! Gives death hugs.
-Shen: A big-ass clam. Can make small mirages. Dunno how big they'd be but we can figure that out later. Monotremes -Peluda: In a lot of myths a peluda is a dragon, but in this, it'd take after the myths saying its more of an echidna. It is the size of an ox, and things that look like thick hairs hanging off of their body but, when threatened, straighten into quills and stingers. It could fire off its quills, had a searing breath, invulnerability except for the tail, and could spit out a powerful stream of water or acid.Musteloids, Mangoose, and Civets -Dobhar-chú: A creature described as king of the otters. It was said to be an otter with some dog and fish-like traits; it was five times the size of a regular otter and white, though it had black ear-tips and a black cross-like marking on its back. Pachyderms -Baku: A creature that resembles an elephant. I'd go with the more recent description: it has an elephants trunk, tusks, and head, with small horns and tiger claws. (Maybe not the tiger claws. The rest of the body would be elephant-y.) It would be covered in light fur instead of hard skin. The Baku had the ability to devour nightmares, and was listed as a guardian against evil and pestilence. Pigs and Boars -Babi ngepet: A creature that is described as a boar demon. In this it would just be a huge boar with some dark abilities. It wouldn't have the abilities its myths list.
-Beast of Dean: A creature resembling a huge wild boar in an area where boars were extinct. It was large enough to knock down trees.
-Calydonian Boar: A giant, deadly boar. In myths, Artemis was angry that a king refused to acknowledge her when he acknowledged the rest of the gods, so she went the calydonian boar to destroy his region. It was slain by a woman named Atalanta. It was supposedly the offspring of the Crommyonian Sow.
-Crommyonian Sow: A giant pig/boar that wrecked havok in Greek mythology, the offspring of Typhon (son of Gaea and Tartarus, greatest enemy of the gods) and Echidna (mother of all monsters, including Cerberus, the first hydra, etc). It was killed by Theseus.
-Erymanthian Boar: A giant, shaggy boar that Herakles/Hercules had to beat the absolute shit out of as a labour.
-Gullinbursti: In Norse mythology, Loki was like, "Hey, dwarves, I bet my head that you can't make something as cool as THESE THINGS," and pointed at some magical items. Brokkr and Sindri immediately made the Gullinbursti boar, a creature that would be loyal to Freyr and better to ride than any horse. It was a pale golden, and there were bristles in its mane that glowed at night, lighting even the darkest of areas.
-Henwen: A sow that gave birth to the Cath Palug. It was pregnant and about to give birth, but prophecy foretold that it be disastrous if this was allowed, so people chased it until it plunged into the sea. It came out elsewhere and gave birth. Some say that the sow is really supposed to be a religious leader that was a woman that King Arthur was against.
-Sæhrímnir: In mythology, Sæhrímnir was a boar that is repeatedly slaughtered, cooked, and then brought back to life by the cook of the gods. Not much else is known of it, but I had a few ideas for it. The first idea is that the nutrients that it can provide is far superior than that to a regular boar; it could be energizing and make someone last for days despite only having a few bites. The second idea I had was that, in the past, young boys were tasked with raising these boars and making them big and plump, the bigger the better. They had to reach a certain size and strength before they were 'approved.' Once the pigs were big enough, the boys were then tasked with defeating and slaughtering them. This would do two things; it would both prove that the boys were strong enough and had enough combat-knowledge to become men, and it would also teach the boys that sometimes they would have to douse their emotions to be adults. (If they were able to kill something they had raised with love and care, then they could do anything.)
-Twrch Trwyth: An enchanted wild King Arthur hunted down with his dog.
-Ysgithyrwyn: So like, Ysgithyrwyn was slain by King Arthur's dog. He was a big ass boar. Arthur really fucking hated boars I guess? But anyway its tusks were supposed to be very useful and durable, but only if they were ripped out of the boar while it was still alive.Primates -Babi: A creature whose name means "bull of the baboons" or "chief of the baboons." A bloodthirsty baboon of the Underworld that eats entrails. He apparently ate the souls of the unrighteous and stood in a lake of fire. A badass dude. In this it might just be a monkey that can light on fire or go through fir and likes to eat people idk we'd work on it.
-Cercopes: They were a pair of brothers that were always monkeys or just... were men that were turned... into monkeys. They were accomplished thieves, liars, and knaves. My idea is that in the denser part of jungles (or maybe in the other continent), these monkeys form pairs upon reaching adulthood with their family or friends to steal and pillage from people.
-Jueyuan/Jué yuán/Jué: A monkey-like creature. Uh. Okay this is a little confusing. So like. A creature called a míhóu (which means rhesus monkey) turns into a yuán (ape) when it hits 800 years old, and when the yuán lives for another 500 years, they become a jué, which then can live 1000 more years. In the original myths they are all-male and steal women to have kids with, but in this they'd likely just mate with regular monkeys or apes. If we even kept them.
-Satyrus: A human-like money that always gives birth to twins; it always loves one but despises the other. They have pleasant faces.
-Shug Monkey: Basically half-dog, half-monkey, always with wide staring eyes. Procyonids -Azeban: A creature that is basically a raccoon trickster spirit. Unlike many other North American trickster spirits, Azeban is not malicious or dangerous, rather just mischievous. Rabbits or Hares -Al-mi'raj: A small rabbit with a unicorn-like horn.
-Jackalope: A jackrabbit with antlers that resemble that of a deer.
-Lepus cornutus: A lot like the Jackalope, but the Lepus Cornutus's horns look a lot more like coral.
-Rasselbock/raspelbock and Rasselgeiß: Basically another type of Jackalope. The males are the Rasselbocks, the females are the Rasselgeiß. Apparently the young are called Waldrasslinges. This one is actively noted to be dangerous, so maybe it is much larger.
-Skvader: "It has the forequarters and hindlegs of a European hare, and the back, wings, and tail of a female wood grouse."
-Wolpertinger: A rabbit with deer-like antlers, large canine teeth that hang out of their mouths, wings, and maybe some wolflike features. (There are a couple different versions. This is the best one, I promise you.)Reptiles (Limbed) -Adnoartina: A deity that took the form of a gecko in the Australian Aboriginal religion. It is described as male, female, and sometimes genderless in many myths. It had a rivalry with a dog named Marandi and, when the two got into a fight over hunting the same prey, Adnoartina latched onto Marandi's neck and spilled his blood, which is how the myth explains Uluru - a formation in Australia - is made of red ochre. Basically in this, this creature would just be a big ass gecko.
-Amphiptere: A type of dragon-like creature that resembles the wyvern, but instead of having hind legs, the only limbs that the Amphiptere has are two large wings. It is often described as feathered.
-Apotamkin: A massive sea serpent with long red hair that dwells in Passamaquoddy Bay. It lures in careless humans, especially children, to devour them.
-Aspidochelone: A gigantic sea turtle that, when fully grown, has the ability to carry an entire island on its back. In some myths it tricks sailors into coming close with its back-island, which they believe will be plentiful, and then they drown the entire shipload. They also emit a very sweet smell that lures fish close.
-Azhdaha: A specifically named Vishap. He was supposedly the grandfather of Cyrus the Great/Astyages, who was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire (the first Persian Empire).
-Bakunawa: A serpent-like dragon in Philippine mythology that was said to cause eclipses, earthquakes, rains, and wind. It was mostly said to make its home in the sea, sky, or underworld.
-Bašmu/Bashmu: A type of reptile that resembles a snake, but with two clawed forearms and wings. Another myth says it has six mouths, seven tongues, and seven dicks. ....yeah we might go with the first description.
-Beast of Busco: A big-ass snapping turtle.
-Beithir: A very large snake or snake-like dragon (meaning no wings and no fire-breathing). It has a poisonous stinger. It is said that if one can get to a body of water befor the Beithir, then it can be cured, but if the Beithir gets to the water first, the victim is doomed. Another cure is supposedly water in which the head of a snake has been placed. Apparently, if a snake is beheaded and the head isn't kept far enough away from the body, the two parts will rejoin and it will come back to life as a Beithir. I almost like this idea for the actual monster, though it may make more sense if it is always a Beithir and it will just come back to life if not dealt with properly. (Or rather it's just SUPER FUCKIN HARD to kill and it isn't technically dead.)
-Chinese dragon/Long/Lung: A snake-like dragon with no wings and usually four legs. Chinese dragons were usually said to have power over water and water-based weather. It is a symbol of power and strength, and often times royalty. Some are depicted as flying, and many are shown with horns and sometimes beards and manes.
-Cockatrice: Something like the basilisk, but with more dragon-like features. It seems to be more like a dragon-shaped creature (two legs and two wings with a long tail), but also with the head of a rooster. I debated putting this with the birds over the reptiles. It has the ability to kill people with just a glance, though other myths say it's with a touch or by breathing on them. Only a weasel is immune to a cockatrice's abilities. If it hears a rooster's crow or sees it's own reflection it will die.
-Dirawong/Goanna: A creator god that protects, guards, fucks up the Rainbow Snake, and helps mortals with... lots.. of things. "Aboriginal astronomy, body designs, bullroarers, bush cosmetics, bush foods, bush medicines, cave paintings & designs made on trees, ceremonial headgear, ceremonial poles, cultural lore, dances, dreaming's, games, geographical locations, how people are required to behave in their communities, initiations, laws of community, paintings, rock art, rock engravings, rules for social behaviour, sacred chants, sacred earth mounds, sacred ground paintings, songlines, songs, stone artifacts, stone objects, stories, structures of society, symbols, technologies, the ceremonies performed in order to ensure continuity of life & land, values, wooden articles, wooden sacred objects, & the beliefs, values, rules & practices concerning the peoples relationship to the land & water of Widje tribal territory within Bundjalung count." It is associated with rain.
-Dragon turtle: (Was finished, gonna touch it up a bit.)
-Dragon: In this RP, there would likely be a countless amount of dragon types. They could have almost any element (not all at once ofc, I just mean there is a dragon for every power) and almost any shape and temperament. I'd say that most dragons are among the smartest monsters, as dragons are often said to be intelligent.
-Drake: A type of dragon-like, four-legged creature that is often depicted without wings, walking on all fours or on its hind legs in different myths. Some say they are smaller than main dragons.
-Druk: A creature that is the "Thunder Dragon" of Tibetan and Bhutanese mythology, very closely resembling a Chinese dragon.
-Gaasyendietha: Also known as the "meteor dragon." AYYYYYYYYEEE. It dwells in deep areas of lakes and rivers in Canada, and can fly on a trail of fire. It can breathe fire.
-Hydra: The offspring of Typhon and Echidna, making it the sibling of the Crommyonian Sow, Orthrus, Cerberus, and the Chimera, as well as several others. It took the form of a nine-headed water-serpent, sometimes with a more dragonic form. For every head that is cut off, as long as the hydra has at least one head left, two more will grow back. It's blood is poisonous and can be used as a weapon.
-Imugi: A Korean dragon that greatly resembles the Chinese Dragon and Druk of Chinese, Tibetan, and Bhutanese mythologies. The thing is, an Imugi is a lesser Korean dragon, not a full Korean dragon-dragon, that can only become a full dragon in most myths if it catches a Yeouiju, which is like a divine object from space.
-Jaculus: Also called the "javelin snake," it is either depicted as a full serpent or as a dragon. (I'll let you decide which.) This monster will hide in trees and then YEET ITSELF AT MAX FORCE AND SPEED at someone to leave a fatal wound. It doesn't have any poison. Just determination. And the springies.
-Kukulkan: A Yucatec Mayan god that was worshipped before the Spanish conquest. It is very similar to Quetzalcoatl and Qʼuqʼumatz in the sense that it is a rainbow-serpent god.
-Lotan: Basically most likely another form of the biblical Leviathan.
-Lou Carcolh: A large, slimy, snail-like serpent with hairy tentacles and a large shell. Apparently it's slime could be seen before it arrived, and if anyone got close it would grab them with its tentacles and drag them into its den to eat them whole.
-Moʻo: A type of ʻaumakua, which is a Hawaiian family god, often a deified ancestor. A monstrous, amphibious reptile that has power over the weather. When it dies, its body petrifies and becomes a part of the landscape.
-Morgawr: A crocodile-like sea-serpent with webbed feet and a powerful tail. It has black and brown skin and is around 60 feet long.
-Nyami Nyami: A river god and one of the most important gods of the Tonga people. Also known as the Zambezi river god or Zambezi Snake spirit, it controlled life in and on the water, protected the Tonga people, and provide for them in difficult times.
-Peuchen: A large flying snake that made a strange whistling noises. Depictions will either show it without wings or with large wings, either scaled or feathered, so I'll let you decide whether it should be considered a serpent or dragon if we keep it. Its gaze could paralyze its victims and allow it to suck their blood.
-Qirin: You have approved this for Ryouko's family. uwu
-Seri Gumum Dragon: A type of Asian dragon that. Probably won't keep this as it's more of a specific dragon instead of a TYPE of dragon. (I have provided some specific dragons only if they stand out from the rest of their kind. This one doesn't do so entirely.)
-Tarasque: In this RP, the Tarasque would be a dragon-like giant turtle with a spiky shell. Apparently its THICK.
-Teju Jagua: The sibling of the Moñái. A giant lizard with seven dog-like, scaly heads and eyes that shot out fire. He has limited mobility, even in myths where he only has one head. HE IS A GOOD BOY. HE GUARDS FRUIT. HE IS SHINY BECAUSE HE ROLLS AROUND IN GOLD. I wanna keep this kinda creature. uwu
-Vishap: A type of man-dragon (though the man part would be removed, and I haven't seen any depictions of them with human features yet). They were very large and had the ability to swallow the world (though their size, of course, would be reduced). They brought lightning where they went and could breathe fire.
-Wyvern: Already approved for the Plammondon family.
-Zaratan: Similar to the Aspidochelone, a large sea turtle that often has an island on its back. These ones are rumoured to be friendly though.Reptiles (Limbless) -Amphisbaena: A serpent with two heads; one where it should be, and one where the tail-tip would be. It was brought to life after Medusa's decapitated head dripped blood and the drops created life. It moves by spinning in a circle.
-Apep/Apophis: BIG EGYPTIAN SNAKE. WANTS TO EAT THE SUN LIKE A PEPPER. He is also the god of evil, destruction, and darkness. A monster based off of him would just be a giant snake that can handle heat and fire better than others.
-Awanyu: A Tewa guardian and deity of water. A plumed serpent.
-Bakunawa: A serpent-like dragon thought to be the cause of eclipses, earthquakes, rains, and wind. More seen as a sea-serpent.
-Basilisk: Said to be the serpent-king, it is a huge snake that can cause death with a glance. In another myth it is small and leaves a trail of deadly venom in its wake. It is weak to the weasel and to phoenix tears.
-Feathered Serpent: A type of feathered snake, oftentimes winged. Can be bred with regular snakes.
-Grootslang: An elephant-sized serpent that collects gems. Even though it can be cruel, it will bargain with humans it captures if they can offer it gems for their release.
-Ikuchi: A Japanese fish-like sea-serpent that secrets oil that would weigh down ships it tried to sink. It moves by revolving around things.
-Jörmungandr: Listen. This dude. I like this dude. Like every game he's in? He's just neat. The real myth tho? Not so great. Not really. He's the son of Loki! Yeah! He's known as the Midgard/World Serpent and is large enough to wrap around the world and nibble his own tail. Odin took all three of Loki's children (like, this "brood") with the jötunn Angrboða and put them places. Jörmungandr was yeeted into the ocean. In one version of the myths, if he releases his tail, Ragnarök will begin, though in other versions this isn't the case. He is destined to fill the skies and seas with poison while his brother Fenrir sets the land ablaze, and then to battle Thor. He will be killed, but his poison will kill Thor in return after Thor walks away nine paces.
-Leviathan: A gigantic sea-serpent that dwells deep in the ocean. They are one of the most terrifying sea creatures to exist.
-Moñái: The son of Tau and Kerana and one of the seven legendary monsters in Guaraní mythology. It has an enormous snake-like body and two very colorful horns that double as antennae. His horns had hypnotic abilities.
-Ouroboros: A large serpent that is constantly devouring its own tail. You've probably seen this symbol in different media. It has a lot of symbolism; one is the continuation of life through destruction, the ouroboros constantly eating its own tail in order to survive. Another is of the past and future; the past is slowly being swallowed and consumed by the future, but it is what sustains the future, what the future was built on. It can represent continuous renewal. It can be seen in a simple circle or in the figure of an eight.
-Quetzalcoatl: A Mesoamerican god that took on the form of a rainbow feathered serpent. He is the god of the winds, rain, weather, and more.
-Qʼuqʼumatz: A rough equivalent of Quetzalcoatl; a feathered serpent god that created humanity.
-Rahab: "In medieval Jewish folklore, Rahab (splendour) is a mythical sea monster, a dragon of the waters, the "demonic angel of the sea". Rahab is also seen as a deity in the text. Rahab represents the primordial abyss, the water-dragon of darkness and chaos, comparable to Leviathan and Tiamat. Rahab later became a particular demon, inhabitant of the sea, especially associated with the Red Sea."
-Shahapet/Khshathrapti/Shavod/Shoithrapaiti/Shvaz/Shvod: Guardian spirits of different mythologies that were most often snakes. If they were treated well they might give the people of the households they protected gold. If they weren't, they would cause trouble and leave them.
-Stone Serpent: This one is sort of my own creation, but not entirely. I will include a picture on what it would sort-of look like in Discord, but idk when you'll see it compared to when you'll read this. I'll say it is the Stone Serpent in Discord so you can look it back up if you've forgotten it. There are a bunch of statues based on Quetzalcoatl and other serpents that I thought would make interesting creatures on their own; creatures made mostly of stone but not golems. I wanted it to be the Mendoza family guardian. There are different types of snakes and different types of rocks and shit it can have.
-The Arkaroo: A big-ass snake from Australian Aboriginal mythology. It drank all the waters of Lake Frome and then went to take a nap. Every time it would rest, water would be left behind where it slept in a pool, especially when it was attacked by other creatures. Apparently it RUMBLES. A creature based on this for the RP would basically just be a water snake. A good ol' wet boy. He'd drink water and then trail water.
-Wyrm: Basically a dragon, just without ANY limbs.
-Xiuhcoatl: An Aztec fire god that took on the form of a giant turquoise serpent. A creature based on this would basically just be a type of snake that is a fiery boy.Rodents -Colo Colo: "The appearance of the Colo Colo varies depending on the region where the myth is told. Sometimes it is described as a feathered rat, sometimes as a snake or lizard with a rat's head, and occasionally it is just depicted as a huge rat. The Colo Colo hatches from an egg laid by a snake, and incubated by a rooster. After hatching, the Colo Colo will hide in a house, where it will feed on the saliva of the residents. If the Colo Colo feeds from a person, that individual will feel exhausted; if the Colo Colo is not stopped, the victim may even die. It is also said that this creature can provoke several serious diseases." In this the saliva thing would more than likely be taken out, as well as how the Colo Colo is born.Ungulates --Xenarthrans --Whales and Dolphins -Akhlut/Kak-whan-u-ghat kig-u-lu'-nik: A creature that is said to either be an orca-like creature in the sea that takes the form of a wolf upon land, or a half-orca, half-wolf creature. I'd prefer the half-orca, half-wolf. Others -Chimera: The original Chimera was the offspring of Typhon and Echidna in Greek mythology. It had the head and body of a lion, a head of a goat portruding from its back, the udders of a goat, and a serpent for a tail. It could breathe fire and was very powerful. These days, a chimera could be made up of different animals and monsters in most forms of media.
-Golems: A creature made out of clay or mud that was used for various purposes. They could be used as assistants or as soldiers, monsters or heroes. They were usually humanoid but it isn't unhead of to see an animal golem.
-Shabti: A creature similar to a golem, but usually made of a wider variety of materials, such as blue or green glazed Egyptian faience, stone, wood, clay, metal, and glass. It was believed that, in the afterlife, a person could call upon the Shabti to help them work. Maybe with the same technique that bring golems back to life, Shabti have been given life in more modern times. Maybe people are upset that the old golem works are being left behind while others that are more modern-minded believe the Shabti are easier and sturdier to make.
-Automaton: We talked about these before and I believe they're still approved. Sorta like beta robots that aren't run by electricity. We were discussing these things being given life using the golem strategy. Maybe, like the Shabti idea above this, people are upset an old tradition is being used for something newer, while others are pleased to see things progress.
